SKINCARE // AUGUST 12, 2019
Let me be the first person to say that I am no sunscreen expert. Anyone who knows me IRL will be the first to tell you that I always forget/miss a spot when it comes to applying sunscreen. I currently have a very dark tan line on my back at that spot that you can't reach on your own. I do this every summer so trust me when I say, wear sunscreen. Getting crispy and exposing your skin to harmful UV rays is not a nice feeling.
A lot of the time a lot of people think the higher the SPF, the better the sunscreen but what about the ingredients a sunscreen is made up of? Brands that are more "natural" or mineral based are generally considered less harmful however can they be as strong as chemical sunscreens? What is the difference between the two anyways?
SUBSCRIPTION BOX; JIYUBOX SUMMER
BEAUTY // JULY 18, 2019
I am very much a subscription box gal. I love getting a curated box of new brands to try out and subscription boxes often provide me with products I would not normally have an opportunity to try. (Also how do we feel about me just subscriping to all of the subscription boxes, because I'm into that, I just need y'all to enable me.)
When Jiyubox reached out to me to see if I would be interested in trying out their box I was excited to try a new box that also aligns with how I try and shop when it comes to personal care. Jiyubox is an all natural personal care and wellness subscription box based right here in Vancouver! Focused on helping people make the transition to natural beauty they feature indie brands and small businesses to provide a seasonal subscription (plus all their products are cruelty free!)
Need another reason to check 'em out? Jiyubox is female owned and operated on top of being all natural and cruelty free.
SKINCARE REVIEW; BL'EAU BEAUTY
skincare // JUly 2, 2019
New skincare line alert! Bl'eau Beauty is a new Canadian skincare line (set to launch July 15th) with a collection of Glacial Oceanic Clay masks and I was extremely lucky to be able to try them out prior to their launch! With skin that is on the oilier side (especially now that it's HAWT out) I have a love hate relationships with most clay masks. I love how clay masks help limit the excess oil on my skin but the way clay masks harden and need strong friction to remove off my skin is a bit too harsh for my skin, leaving my skin feeling sore. Peeps who have ever used a clay mask, you know what I'm talking about. I call it clay cake face and you look like you're from Westeros and have been infected with grayscale.
I did some research into Glacial Oceanic Clay prior to trying Bl'eau Beauty to make sure it wouldn't be too abrasive on my delicate princess skin. While most clay masks are made with bentonite clay as their main ingredient, Glacial Oceanic Clay is much gentler on the skin. Glacial Oceanic Clay helps detoxify and rehydrate the skin, reduces excess oil and removes dead and dry skin cells.
Their launch includes the introduction of their Organics and Transcend line with different formula for different skincare needs.
OH HI THERE!
Vicki feels kind of ridiculous talking about herself in the third person as if she isn't the one writing this.
She already feels weird when people call her an influencer, please don't make her write her own bio too.

Sponsored posts or gifted items will always be noted. Some posts contain contextual affiliate links but I always disclose when they do. This means that I receive a small commission if you purchase a product I've linked to. Also I would never give you an affiliate link or code if it didn't also save you money. Cross my heart.
All opinions are 100% my own which should be pretty obvious because I swear a fuckload. Brands love it. Probably. I've only ever gotten one cease and desist letter but it was fake anyways.
Also LOL about me disclosing about sponsored posts. At the time of me writing this little blurb I haven't done a single sponsored blog post and if anything this blog costs me my own sweet coin because I'm always buying my own products to review. Shout out to the first brand who wants to pay me for a review. Just not a fitness tea please.
Fuck those companies.
